Comments From Coach Dan Taylor:
The results of today's matches show just how much improvement the team has made since last season.  Last year we had a number of close matches against ELC, and they had some match wins in each of our two meetings.  So the 9-0 victories by both the varsity and jv squads with greater margins of victory are evidence that the work the guys have put in has paid off.  I have nothing but good things to say about the varsity singles matches.  The guys played confidently and consistently, not beating themselves and serving well.  We did win the doubles matches, but I saw the most room for improvement in our doubles play today.  We haven't worked as much on doubles as previous seasons at this point in the schedule, so we will be putting in extra time working on doubles strategy and shot selection.  But overall this was a terrific way to begin the regular season, and we will work hard preparing these next two days for a big match against a tough LeMars team on Thursday.
