He began his coaching career as an assistant boys coach at New Hampton High School prior to becoming the head girls basketball coach at Seymour High School in 1994.  He became the head girls basketball coach at Mediapolis High School in 1997.  He was the head coach at Mediapolis for twenty years where he truly built a dynasty.  In his twenty year run as the Mediapolis head coach, he led the Bullettes to 11 Conference Championships and two state semi-final appearances. During his time at Mediapolis he had seven twenty win seasons, was conference coach of the year honors eight times and was district coach of the year three times. He has coached numerous all-star games and served the IGCA as the district and state representative for seven years. Not only has he had success as a high school coach, but he has tremendous success on the AAU front as well.  He was the head coach and director of the Girls Iowa Barnstormers from 2010-2018. He has coached 13 players who have gone on to play collegiately. Nine of these athletes play/played at the Division I level. One of these outstanding players is his daughter Mackenzie Rogers who currently plays for Western Illinois University.

Todd has been an educator for 26 years.  He has exceptional reviews from his co-workers and is described to bring a tremendous amount of enthusiasm to the classroom.  He truly cares about his students and creating an environment that is conducive for all to achieve their learning goals. We are looking forward to Todd joining our elementary staff as well.

Athletic Director Rachel Fisher says, "Todd is the perfect fit for Spirit Lake Girls Basketball.  He brings a tremendous amount of energy and passion for the game.  He has the type of love for the game that is impossible to duplicate.  His experience and leadership abilities were key factors in making the decision to hire Todd.  We are very excited for the girls to meet him and get started with summer and off-season workouts."
Todd and his wife Angela have two children.  Their daughter Mackenzie will be a junior at Western Illinois University and their son Tyler is completing his first year of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the University of Iowa.

Todd stated, "I am very excited for this great opportunity. We are looking forward to moving to such a beautiful area of the state. I can't wait to meet the players and get started."
