Boys Game

It was a slow 1st quarter that hampered Spirit Lake as they played from behind in losing to Storm Lake on the road 70-64.  Storm Lake set the pace early outscoring Spirit Lake 18-7 in the 1st quarter.  The Indians would outscore the Tornadoes 57-52 the rest of the way but could not overcome the deficit.  Storm Lake also took advantage of great outside shooting.  The Tornadoes hit 7 three pointers.  They were led by Josh Werge with 17 and Cham Deng with 16.  Spirit Lake had a great floor game from JP Walz as he finished with a game high 22 points.  Owen Coburn had a double double of 18 points and 10 rebounds.  Storm Lake is 8-3 and 5-2 in the conference.  Spirit Lake falls to 8-2 and 4-2 in the conference.  Spirit Lake will host Pocahontas Saturday in a makeup.
