Six Lakers honored by ICCAC

AMES - Six Iowa Lakes Community College softball players have been named to the all- Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Division II team.

The Lakers had one first-team, freshman shortstop Kacie Salazar. She's from Bakersfield, Calif.

Salazar had a batting average of .377 overall and a .391 in conference play. She had 52 hits that included 18 doubles and 13 home runs. She scored 37 runs and had 53 runs batted in. She has also posted an impressive .922 slugging percentage in ICCAC games.

Second-team choices were sophomore outfielder Julia Sullwold, sophomore outfielder Leilani San Pedro, sophomore infielder Kaitlin Walsh, and freshman pitcher Yasmine Nix.

Freshman catcher Kenlee Frank was an honorable mention selection.
