Okoboji Sprinter Signs National Letter of Intent

Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Gabriel Goehring of Okoboji High School to attend the college and participate in the track and field program.
MMC head track and field coach, Randy Fischer, said, “Gabriel is a talented athlete that works very hard and we are excited to have him running for the Lancers.  I feel he has a great deal of potential in his collegiate running career.”
Goehring was named 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-District, 2nd Team All-State and was a member of the 2013 medley relay team that finished 4th.  In the classroom he was a member of National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 4H, and participated in a number of service activities.
Goehring plans to major in Pre-Professional/Physical Therapy at Mount Marty College. In addition to his athletic awards, he will also be receiving an Academic Excellence Scholarship and a Catholic Leadership Award. He is the son of Scott and Teresa Goehring of Milford, Iowa.
