The Rockets came out with a big third quarter extending their lead 58-27. The game closed with a final score of 76-35. The Pioneers were led by Kyle Martin's 11 points. Comments From Okoboji Coach Ryan Stumbo
A lot of credit needs to be given to Rock Valley in this game. Their physical brand of basketball gave us a little trouble early in the paint and made it difficult for us to rebound and get going offensively. They were also able to hit some open shots from the outside that made them hard to defend. This game is a great opportunity for our guys to embrace accountability and understand the level of physicality necessary to compete night in and night out within our very tough conference. Once we were able to settle in a little bit, our guys did a nice job of driving the ball looking to be aggressive. We also had some open looks from the outside that just did not go tonight, and sometimes that happens within the game. Knowing the type of guys we have in our locker room, we are optimistic that we will learn what we need to from this game and continue to grow.
