Comments From Okoboji Coach John Adams:
“We loved the energy and effort we gave on the defensive end of the court. Both teams did a great job on defense of making the other team work and take contested shots. Carissa Doran had a huge second half for us with not only those two three-pointers but some big time hustle plays that got us the ball back at critical times. Kallyn, Magan and Montana did a great job of handling their press and Camry was really good for us in the paint. We also got some very good minutes from our bench. Sioux Center is always a very tough team and we’re thrilled to come out of here with a win.”
The Pioneers traveled to Sioux Center Tuesday night to open up their season and conference play against the Sioux Center Warriors. Both teams battled to open up the game in the first quarter which came to a close 22-21 in favor of the Pioneers.

Comments From Okoboji Coach Ryan Stumbo:
Despite the loss, we were proud of our boys resilience throughout the highs and lows of the game. We worked hard to respond and compete all game long. It was a really thin line between losing and winning tonight, but give Sioux Center a lot of credit for taking advantage of the drive when we got out of position and knocking down some nice outside shots. We will focus on the positives and work hard to fine tune the areas we need to going into our next game Friday against Sheldon.
