Comments From Okoboji Head Coach John Adams:

“We just got outplayed and outcoached from the opening tip. Give Rock Valley all the credit, they came out and competed very hard and played with a chip on their shoulder. Jordan always does a great job with his teams and they were ready to play. Congrats to Abby Heemstra on reaching the 1,000 point milestone tonight; it will be nice to not have to play against her and Lexie next year as those two have been fantastic players for four years. The good news is we don’t have time to hang our heads as we get the opportunity to compete tomorrow night against a great Central Lyon team and I know this group will respond.”

Boys Game

Okoboji traveled to Rock Valley Thursday night to take on the Rockets.  Both teams competed hard in the first quarter with the Rockets opening up a 20-13 lead.  Rock Valley went into half with a 37-22 lead.  The third quarter ended with a 57-38 score.  The final score ended up 67-55 in favor of the Rockets.  Jaden Heller led Okoboji with 16 points, Will Hoffman and Aidan Dahms each had 14 points.  Okoboji is now 7-9 and 5-8 in the conference.

Comments From Okoboji Head Coach Ryan Stumbo:

Give Rock Valley a lot of credit tonight for moving the ball really well and their ability to score inside and out.  They are a good team.  Even though we lost tonight, we felt like we did a lot of things better than what we had earlier the past couple games.  Justin Vaugh returning was a big help for us rebounding.  We just need to keep developing good habits and improving going into February.
