MSTS event at Jackson is a go
JACKSON - Officials at Jackson Motorplex have announced that the Midwest Power Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series 360 sprint cars event at the track on Friday, June 19 is on. That will be the second event at the track with a limited number of fans allowed in the grandstand next week.
First up will be the opening round of the Bank Midwest Summer Series on Monday.
That's the first of a four-race series featuring IMCA modifieds, IMCA stock cars, IMCA hobby stocks, IMCA sport modifieds and IMCA sport compacts. Other dates are June 30, July 21 and Aug. 25.
Hot laps Monday are at 7:15 p.m.
Then, the Midwest Power Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series 360 sprint cars will make season debut at the track on Friday. Hot laps that night are at 7:30 p.m.
That event will pay $2,500 to win and $350 to start.
Jack Dover (Springfield, Neb.) has won all three MSTS events this season and leads the series point standings by 18 points over Brendan Mullen (Grand Forks). The series will run at I-90 Speedway in Hartford, S.D. on Saturday.
Ryan Bickett (Ramona, S.D.) is another point back in third place, Eric Lutz (Sioux Falls) is 24 points out in fourth place and Brant O'Banion (Viborg, S.D.) is fifth, 33 points off the pace.
RaceSaver sprint cars will also be on the program that night.
All CDC guidelines will be followed. Face masks are recommended and social distancing guidelines will be followed in the pits and grandstand.
