Motorplex opener is postponed
JACKSON - Officials at Jackson Motorplex have postponed the IMCA Frostbuster and Ben Nothdurft Memorial one week.
Last weekend's snow accumulation and an impending snow storm later this week made the move necessary.
The season-opening event will feature the Double Down Showdown on Saturday, May 5.
IMCA A mods, sport mods, stock cars, hobby stocks and sport compacts will compete, as well as the Tri-State Late Model Series.
There will be a unique opportunity for all IMCA divisions. The winner’s payout in the A Main will be doubled if 24 or more cars show up in a class.
Without the bonus, A mods will race for $600 to win, stock cars and sport mods $500 to win, hobby stocks $300 and sport compacts $100.
Additionally, the Tri-State Late Model Series will compete in the inaugural Ben Nothdurft Memorial, paying $3,000 to win. Second place nets $2,000 and third place $1,500.
WISSOTA late models are welcome and the main event will pay $250 to start.
Hot laps are at 7 p.m., with racing to follow.
Prior to the opener, a test-n-tune session for all classes will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 3.
