Motorplex hosting Midwest Power Series
JACKSON – After a successful season opener last weekend, Jackson Motorplex is ready for another night of racing Friday as it hosts the opening event of the Midwest Power Series featuring Nebraska 360 Sprints and Midwest Sprint Touring Series 360 sprint cars, along with RaceSaver sprint cars and NSL non-wing sprint cars.
The 360 sprint cars main event will pay $2,500 to win and $400 to start. It's the first of a dozen 360 winged sprint car shows at the track this season.
Brady Forbrook enters the weekend as the RaceSaver sprint cars points leader after winning last week's season opener. Brandon Halverson claimed the NSL non-wing sprint cars opener and he's second to Alex Schriever in the championship standings.
Also, there will be a vendor night for area businesses from 5-8 p.m. behind the grandstand.
Hot laps are scheduled for 7:30 p.m., with racing to follow.
Lee Grosz of Harwood, N.D. Is the leader in the MSTS point standings as he has a 28-point advantage over Eric Lutz of Sioux Falls and 41 over Jody Rosenboom of Rock Rapids.
The MSTS also runs Saturday as the Memorial Day Clash is held at Park Jefferson International Speedway in Jefferson, S.D.
