Midwest Power Series returns to track
ROCK RAPIDS - Following four weeks off, the Midwest Power Series will be back in action this weekend, visiting a pair of venues for the first time.
On Friday, the MPS will join forces with Midwest Sprint Touring Series at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids.
While Midwest Power Series has never visited Rock Rapids, the MSTS has visited the facility 19 times, including two times this year. Jack Dover (Springfield, Neb.) won on July 10, with Terry McCarl (Altoona) winning on July 25.
That show will feature a $2,000-to-win and $300-to-start purse.
On Saturday, the MPS travels to Park Jefferson Speedway in Jefferson, S.D. In addition to the MSTS, the Nebraska 360s will be on hand as well.
That event is also $2,000-to-win and $300-to-start.
Dover is the MPS points leader. In his four starts, he has picked up one win and never finished outside the top 10.
Justin Henderson (Tea, S.D.) is second, 109 points off the pace.
Brooke Tatnell (San Souci, NSW) is third, 171 points out; Eric Lutz (Sioux Falls) is fourth, 182 points off the pace; and Derrik Lusk (Jackson) is fifth, 182 points out.
After this weekend, the next scheduled event is Sept. 12 at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis.
