Midwest Power Series event postponed
JACKSON - Rain caused the postponement of Friday's Midwest Power Series event at Jackson Motorplex.
The show will be moved to next Friday, July 20. The $5,000 to win 360 winged sprint car A Main will be held during the Barb Wieskus Memorial.
IMCA 305 sprint cars and NSL non-wing sprint are also scheduled to compete.
Before that, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be in Jackson Wednesday for the Sturdevants Auto Parts 50.
That group was at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill. Friday, with Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla. bolting from the ninth starting spot to win his third feature of the season.
Pearson took the lead from Jimmy Owens on lap 37 and went on to the win. Owens (Newport, Tenn.) finished second, with Tim McCreadie (Watertown, N.Y.) third.
Jonathon Davenport (Blairsville, Ga.) is the series leader with 4740 points, Josh Richards (Shinnston, W.V.) is second with 4645 and Scott Bloomquist (Mooresburg, Tenn.) third with 4560.
Prior to appearing in Jackson, the series will be at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo. Saturday; and Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen Tuesday.
