Mammoths drop two close games at state

MITCHELL – The Boji Mammoths lost a pair of one-goal games at the South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association state tournament at Mitchell Activity Center.

Boji lost its opener 4-3 in overtime to Yankton.

Drake Hettlend had a goal and an assist for the Mammoths. Max Carlson scored the other goal.

Daniel Hoerichs had two assists. Garret Richardson and Lawton Kramer had one assist apiece.

The Bucks outshot Boji 33-20. Walker Radcliffe made 29 saves.

In the consolation bracket, Sioux Falls won 2-1 over the Mammoths. Richardson scored the goal, with Marcus Ingraham getting a helper.

The Flyers outshot Boji 25-20. Radcliffe recorded 23 saves.
