Madsen, Ballenger claim feature wins
JACKSON - Kerry Madsen earned his eighth career All Star Circuit of Champions feature win on Tony Stewart Night Friday at Jackson Motorplex.
Madsen started fourth and took the lead just before the midpoint of the 35-lap race, which paid $10,000 to win.
It was Madsen's first All Star triumph since February of 2017 and the onlt the third visit by the series ever to Jackson.
Aaron Reutzel finished second, with Chad Kemenah, Dave Blaney and series points leader Carson Macedo rounding out the top five.
Stewart placed 17th.
Madsen had the best time in qualifying among the 46 competitors.
Winning heat races were Brian Brown, Sammy Swindell, Carson Macedo, Paul McMahan and Terry McCarl.
Chad Kemenah and Josh Baughman each won a dash. Cale Conley won the C Main and Stewart the B Main.
In the RaceSaver sprint class, Dusty Ballenger won his second feature of the season after he started the 20-lap A Main on the inside of the fourth row.
Jacob Hughes was second, with championship points leader Kaleb Johnson placing third after starting eighth. Filling out the top five were Doug Lovegrove and Jeremy Schultz.
Jesse Lindberg, Hughes and Brady Forbrook each won a heat race. Monty Ferriera won the B Main.
The next event at Jackson Motorplex is Aug. 17 with the Midwest Power Series, RaceSaver sprint cars and NSL non-wing sprint cars.
