Late models slated to run at Motorplex
JACKSON – There are two nights of racing scheduled this week at Jackson Motorplex.
Wednesday, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be on hand with the feature paying $10,000 to win. Also slated to run are RaceSaver Sprint Cars and the Late Model Street Stock Series.
Scott Bloomquist set quick time during qualifying, won a heat race and captured the main event from the pole during last year’s Late Model Dirt Series debut at Jackson Motorplex.
Bloomquist is 14th in the current point standings. Jonathan Davenport leads Tyler Erb by 425 points.
Bill Johnson owns a 15-point lead over Brandon Bosma in the RaceSaver Sprint Cars entering Wednesday.
The top five in the standings are within 24 points as John Lambertz is 21 points out of the lead, Colin Smith is 23 points out and Kaleb Johnson is 24 points from the top spot.
Dave Kuchta won the lone Late Model Street Stock Series race at Jackson Motorplex so far this year.
Hot laps are at 7 p.m.
Friday it's the Barb Wieskus Memorial with the Midwest Power Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series 360 sprint cars, RaceSaver sprint cars and NSL non-wing sprint cars.
