Large purse on the line for Motorplex opener
JACKSON – It's less than three weeks until the scheduled first event of the season at Jackson Motorplex, with a large purse up for grabs during the season-opening event, the IMCA Frostbuster and Ben Nothdurft Memorial on Saturday, April 28.
IMCA A mods, sport mods, stock cars, hobby stocks and sport compacts will compete, as well as the Tri-State Late Model Series.
Drivers in the All IMCA divisions will have a unique opportunity as the winner’s payout in the A Main will be doubled if 24 or more cars show up in a given class.
Without the bonus, IMCA a mods will race for $600 to win, IMCA stock cars and IMCA sport mods pay $500 to the winner, the IMCA hobby stocks winner will be awarded $300 and the IMCA sport compacts victor takes home $100.
Additionally, the Tri-State Late Model Series will feature the inaugural Ben Nothdurft Memorial. That event will pays $3,000 to win, with second place netting $2,000 and third place $1,500.
Hot laps are scheduled for 7 p.m. that evening, with racing to follow. The makeup date is Saturday, May 5.
Prior to that, there will be a test-n-tune session for all classes from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, April 27.
