Laker softball adds pitcher from Texas
ESTHERVILLE - Iowa Lakes Community College softball coach Katie Larson has announced the signing of Isabelle Karr to the 2018-2019 recruiting class. She is the daughter of Angel and Michelle Karr and played at Keller Central High School.
"I could not be happier with the addition of Isabelle to our recruiting class." said Larson. "Isabelle is an amazing young lady both on and off the field. She is the epitome of an Iowa Lakes softball player and will be a great role-model for the youth in the community."
A pitcher-first baseman, Karr is a four-year letter winner for the Chargers. In a very strong Texas league, Karr finished her junior year with a .60 earned-run average. She was awarded 3-6A honorable mention in 2017 and has twice earned academic all-district honors.
"Isabelle will be joining a very well-rounded pitching staff," Larson said. "Her ability to place the ball perfectly and move the ball through the zone will be a great addition. This will allow our pitching staff to do more things and will keep other teams on their toes. Isabelle's work ethic and attitude will allow her to do great things both on and off the field. She is a lead by example type of kid, which will earn her the respect of her teammates very quickly. We are excited to be a part of Isabelle's growth over the next two years."
