Laker men, women both 5th in tourney

COUNCIL BLUFFS – Iowa Lakes was fifth in the both the men's and women's team standings at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate tournament that concluded Tuesday at Bent Tree Golf Club.

The Laker men had rounds of 320, 316 and 303 for a 939 total. Host Iowa Western was first with 875.

Carlton Rahn led ILCC as he tied for 14th place out of 44 golfers with a 229 total.

Nick Revering was 21st with a 235, Trace Jacobson 22nd with a 237, Joey Murphy 23rd with a 238 and Aaron James tied for 31st with 247.

Iowa Western's Tom Westenberger was medalist with 211.

The Laker women had rounds of 356 and 369 for a 725 total. Mount Mercy was first with 634.

Annika DuMoulin paced Iowa Lakes by placing 12th out of 38 golfers with a 171. Abby Stender tied for 14th with 174, Molly Diekmann was 24th with 192 and Erin Baum 26th at 196.

Casey Noble of Mount Mercy was medalist with 153.

The Iowa Lakes men will play in the Buena Vista Fall Shoot Out Sunday and Monday at Spencer Country Club, while the women's team plays in the Region XI Fall Preview Thursday, Oct. 11 at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.
