Also for Iowa Lakes, Carlton Rahn (Clarinda) carded an 81, Morgan Edwards (Reading, England) shot 83, Cameron Maxwell (Paullina) had an 85 and Aaron James (Sunbury, Australia) shot an 89.
"Monday was all about getting back into the rhythm of competitive golf and getting to be outside again," said ILCC coach Jarvis Weber. "Usually we will get at least a week, if not two, of good practice outside at Brooks before we get thrown into the season. Unfortunately with the weather deciding to not cooperate this spring, we have not had the chance to get outside so today was definitely a step in the right direction towards our goal of playing in Alabama in May.
"The guys have been putting in a lot of work in the offseason and it is only a matter of time until we begin to see results in the win column," he continued. "From my point of view I saw a lot of good things that the guys can use going forward, and for that I am proud of the way they played. This spring will test their patience and determination which will help them all out in the long run. All in all it was a good day to get outside and play golf again, and we look forward to competing tomorrow and getting better."
The final round is Tuesday.
