Johnson, Ballenger win Nationals features
JACKSON - Jason Johnson and Dusty Ballanger were winners on the first night of the Jackson Nationals Friday at Jackson Motorplex.
Johnson started seventh, but came on to win the 30-lap feature, his first win of the season on the World of Outlaws circuit. Ballenger capitalized on a green-white-checkered finish to win the RaceSaver sprint car feature.
Daryn Pittman was second in the World of Outlaws event, followed by Brad Sweet, David Gravel and Brian Brown.
Justin Henderson won the B feature and Greg Wilson the C feature. Lynton Jeffrey won the dash.
Heat winners were Shane Stewart, Johnson, Jeffrey and Sweet.
Kaleb Johnson was second in the RaceSaver feature, followed by Jacob Hughes, Brant O'Banion and Colin Smith.
Smith, Jake Martens and Clayton Christensen were heat winners.
Saturday will bring a rare doubleheader to Jackson Motorplex.
Thursday's postponed preliminary program will be held in the afternoon, with hot laps at 1 p.m. That program will feature only the World of Outlaws. The evening program will have both the World of Outlaws and RaceSaver sprint cars.
