JCC grad named GPAC Freshman of the Year
SIOUX CITY - Lacey Wacker, a setter with the Northwestern College volleyball team, has been named Freshman of the Year in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The 2017 Jackson County Central graduate was also a second-team all-conference choice.
Wacker leads the GPAC in set assists, averaging 11.3 per set, which is also third best in the NAIA.
She directed a Red Raider offense that ranks third in the country in hitting percentage.
Also, Wacker has 35 ace serves, fourth most in the GPAC; and had a hitting percentage of .423.
Northwestern has a 28-4 overall record and earned an opening-round bye and will be one of the 32 teams at the NAIA National Championship in Sioux City that starts Nov. 28.
