Iowa Lakes Womens Basketball Falls To NECC
The Iowa Lakes Women’s Basketball took on Northeast Community College tonight and lost 61-56. This was the second time playing the Hawks. The Lakers came out strong and played a decent first half getting some key defensive stops but were stagnant on the offensive side of the ball. Going into halftime the Lakers were only down 9 points at halftime 24-33. In the second half the Lakers rallied defensively getting stops but were unable to capitalize on offense.
The key performers for the Lakers were sophomore #24 Aliyah Gipson with 21 points and five rebounds, freshmen #34 Kirstin Martindale with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals.
The Lakers will play next on Saturday November 29th vs. N.D. State College of Science at 1:00pm in the Laker gymnasium.
