ILCC's Clayton headed to Bethany College
LINDSBORG, Kan. - Former Iowa Lakes Community College guard Malcolm Clayton has signed a national letter of intent to join the men's basketball program at Bethany College, an NAIA school.
A six-foot-guard from Fort Dodge, Clayton averaged 11.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game as a sophomore.
"I chose Bethany because they seemed to be on the come up," Clayton commented. "I trust their coaches to bring a good result out of me, and good tournament run. The community seems nice and I am excited for two more years of chasing a championship."
He was an honorable mention selection on the all-Iowa Community College Athletic Conference team. Clayton helped lead the Lakers to an overall record of 26-6 that included a conference record of 13-3.
"This is a great opportunity for Malcolm at Bethany," ILCC coach Troy Larson said. "He will have a chance to compete right away and provide an impact on their team. Malcolm worked hard in his time here and improved greatly from his freshman year. I am excited to see how much better he gets and looking forward to following his career."
Bethany, a member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, is coached by Dan O'Dowd and had a 9-19 record last season.
