ILCC softball finally plays at home
ESTHERVILLE - The Iowa Lakes Community College softball team finally played at home Tuesday. The Lakers had played their first 36 games away from home.
ILCC would split a doubleheader with Division I Marshalltown, winning the first game 5-2 before losing the second 11-10.
In the opener, Yasmine Nix went the distance to record the pitching win, throwing just 78 pitches in seven innings. She allowed two runs on 10 hits while walking one. She also had two hits at the plate.
Kaitlin Walsh hit two home runs in the nightcap for the Lakers, who are now 15-23 overall and 5-11 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
ILCC hosts Iowa Central at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
