ILCC softball announces signing
ESTHERVILLE - Iowa Lakes Community College softball coach Katie Larson announced the signing of Madison Schauf to the 2018-2019 recruiting class. She is a three-year starter and letter winner for the Sigourney High School Savages.
In her career, Madison has posted a .418 batting average with 121 hits, including 28 doubles and six home runs. She has 96 runs batted in and compiled a .470 career on-base percentage.
In her junior year, she helped lead her team to a fourth-place finish in the state tournament. Schauf has received all-conference honorable mention honors twice.
“Madison is a very mechanically sound third baseman,” Larson commented. “She does a great job staying on the balls of her feet and her quick hands will allow her to snag those hard hit balls. At the plate, Madison has some power. She does a great job being quick to the zone and then staying long through it. Her smooth swing allows her to hit consistently to the power alleys. We are very excited to watch Madison grow as a student-athlete next year.”
