ILCC basketball teams win over Little Priest Tribal

WINNEBAGO, Neb. - Both Iowa Lakes Community College basketball teams opened Iowa Community College Athletic Conference play with a road win Wednesday over Little Priest Tribal College.

ILCC won the men's game 75-60.

Equan Ards (Milwaukee) led the Lakers in scoring with 22 points. Solomon Clayton (Fort Dodge) scored 17 points and led the Iowa Lakes in rebounds with 20.

Also scoring in double figures for ILCC were Lamontae Lewis (Racine, Wis.) with 13 points and Malcolm Clayton (Fort Dodge) with 11.

Four players scored in double figures for the ILCC women in an 80-62 win.

Shareece Smith (Fort Dodge) led the Lakers with 24 points and Samantha Hagedorn (Bancroft) added 15 points, while Breanna Wendland (Minneapolis) and Shanice Vaughn (Minneapolis) each scored 12 points.

ILCC's men have an 8-2 record, while the women are 10-2.

Both teams host Ellsworth Saturday, with the women's game at 1 p.m. and the men's at 3 p.m.
