ROCHESTER - Minnesota West sophomore center Katherin Ihnen has been named women's basketball co-Player of the Week in the Minnesota Athletic Conference Southern Division.

It's the third time this season she's earned the honor. She shares the award with Western Technical College's Kerrigan Lyga.

Ihnen, a Harris-Lake Park graduate, has been an integral part of the Lady Jays' run of 11 straight wins. Minnesota West leads the division with an 8-0 record and is 17-4 overall.

In two wins last week, she averaged 31 points and 14 rebounds. Ihnen shot 83 percent from the field and she was 24-of-29. She was also 14-19 from the free-throw line.

Minnesota West cracked the National Junior College Athletic Conference ratings as the Lady Jays are ninth.

Three other Minnesota teams appear in the poll as Northland (16-4) is seventh, while Hibbing (17-5) and Rochester (16-5) both received votes.

The Lady Jays host Minnesota State Fergus Falls Wednesday.
