HMS Softball Defeats Hinton
Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn scored two runs in the third and added three runs in both of the fifth and sixth innings to down Hinton 8-1 in War Eagle Conference softball on Thursday night. The Blackhawks scored their lone run in the top of the sixth and stranded 13 base runners in the contest. HMS pitcher Trey Haag had a good night, giving up the one run on six hits, striking out seven while walking three. Offensively, Haag was 2-for-3 with three RBI's. Jennie Riedemann was 2-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored. Kourtney Schnurr was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Jadyn Case took the loss on the mound. She pitched all six innings, giving up eight runs on 10 hits, striking out six and walking one. Hinton falls to 4-7. HMS improves to 2-5. They go to South O'Brien for a tournament on Saturday.
