HMS Softball Beats HLP; Wolves Take Baseball Game
Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn built a large lead and held on for a 12-6 win over Harris-Lake Park in War Eagle Conference softball on Wednesday night. The Hawks scored nine runs in the first and two more in the second. HLP kept the game going with a run in the third and three in the fifth. The Hawks got their final run in the fifth with the Wolves adding runs in the sixth and seventh each. Kourtney Schnurr was 4-for-4 for HMS with two runs scored and two RBI. Amanda Recher was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Maggie Albert got the win for the Hawks. She pitched all seven innings, giving up six runs on 11 hits. She struck out five and walked none. HMS is now 4-11. They are at Alta-Aurelia on Thursday. Morgan Bradley was 3-for-4 with two runs scored an a RBI for HLP. The Wolves fall to 5-7. They host Hinton on Friday.
