HMS & HLP Volleyball Advance In 1A Postseason

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn won a thrilling five game set over Trinity Christian in Class 1A Region 1 volleyball on Tuesday night. The Hawks trailed by as much as five in game one but came back to win 25-21. In game two, HMS built a 10-5 lead early and cruised to a 25-15 victory. The Tigers took a back-and-forth game three 25-23. In game four, Trinity gained momentum and picked up the 25-17 win to force set five. In game five, HMS had a 6-1 lead before Trinity battled back and led 8-6. The Hawks would tie it at eight, nine, ten and 11 before retaking the lead at 12-11. In the end, HMS edged Trinity 15-13 to pick up game five and the match. With the win, HMS is now 10-18, avenging an earlier 3-0 loss to the Tigers from earlier this season. The Hawks advance to play at LeMars Gehlen Catholic on Monday night. Trinity's season closes at 14-16.
