Class 1A Region 1 Postseason Girls Basketball


Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn got their offense rolling in a 72-43 win over Central Lyon in Class 1A Region 1 Girls Basketball on Thursday night.  The Hawks built an 11-1 lead early but the Lions trimmed it to 15-8 after one quarter.  The score got as close as five in the second quarter, but HMS went on a run to go up 40-23 at halftime.  The lead was 58-37 after three for the Hawks, who had four players in double figures.  Regan Shockley led the way for HMS with 21 points with 15 of them coming in the second half.  Kenna Rieck had 19 points including three treys.  Erin Streit had 12 while Claire Solsma added 10.  The Hawks are 16-6 and host George-Little Rock on Tuesday.  Hear the contest on Q102.  Central Lyon season ends at 9-13.  The Lions were led by Lexie Ramsey's 16 points.
