Hartley Melvin Sanborn vs. Central Lyon

A hot shooting Central Lyon team ended Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn's season with a 76-54 setback.  The Class 1A District 2 semifinal match up was close throughout much of the first quarter, but the Lions used a late run to pull ahead 22-14 after one.  The lead would grow to as much as 11 in the first half before HMS cut it to 39-30 at halftime.  Central Lyon extended the lead to 57-41 after three quarters.  Cade Knobloch led the Lions with 26 points.  CJ Roths had 18 while Riley Van Wyhe added 17.  Central Lyon is 16-7.  They will play in a district final on Thursday night at Sioux Center against Boyden-Hull.  HMS was led by Brian Perez's 19 points.  The Hawks season closes out at 17-6, a school record for wins.  They say goodbye to seniors Cayle Carney, Jon Soto, Ethan Adams, Daniel Heitritter, Jordan Schiphoff, Perez, David Van Dyke, and Jordan Japenga.
