HMS Baseball Ends Season On Saturday

Sheldon ended Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn’s baseball season with an 11-1 loss in six innings on Saturday afternoon.  The Orabs jumped out to a quick start, scoring five in the first, and three in the second.  They added two more in the fifth and the game ending run in the sixth.  HMS got their lone run in the fifth.  For Sheldon, Colby Kleinhesselink was 4-for-4 with a single, RBI double, RBI triple, and two run home run.  Cody Van Meeteran was 2-for-3 with three RBI.  Kleinhesselink pitched the first three innings for Sheldon, giving up no runs on one hit.  He struck out three and walked one.  Ross Van Kley pitched the final three innings.  He gave up one run on four hits while striking out three and walking one.  Sheldon is 8-17 and plays Okoboji on Tuesday back in Hull at 5pm.  Hear that game on Q102.  Jordan Japenga pitched the first five innings for HMS.  He gave up 10 runs on 12 hits while striking out three and walking two.  Ivan Abonce pitched the final inning.  He gave up one run on one hit and walked one batter.  Hunter Orthmann was 1-for-3 with a RBI for the Hawks, whose season ends at 7-13.
