HLP Basketball Splits at RSM
Harris-Lake Park overcame a slow first half and defeated Remsen St. Mary's 61-47 on Tuesday night in Remsen. The Wolves trailed 11-10 after one quarter and 32-25 at halftime. In the third quarter, HLP stepped up the defensive pressure and the Hawks scored just two points to the Wolves' 21. Katherin Ihnen led the Wolves with 16. Grace Heikens hit four three pointers and added 14 points overall. Taylor Meyer chipped in 12 points off the bench for HLP, who evens their record at 8-8. The Wolves host Akron-Westfield on Friday. Remsen St. Mary's pulled away from Harris-Lake Park in the fourth quarter and picked up a 73-64 War Eagle Conference victory on Tuesday night in Remsen. The Hawks opened up a 20-12 lead on HLP after one quarter. In the second quarter, the Wolves outscored the Hawks 17-8 and took a one point lead into the locker room after a three pointer by Jordan Kyle at the buzzer. The two teams were tied at 45 after three quarters. In the fourth quarter, offensive rebounds and turnovers took their toll on the Wolves, and the Hawks picked up the nine point victory. Colin Schroeder and Ethan Biezuns each had 15 for RSM, who is 11-4 on the season. Dahlton Burdorf had 19 points for HLP. Jordan Kyle had 17. The Wolves fall to 7-8.
