High School Girls Basketball: Tuesday November 21
Central Lyon at Okoboji
The Okoboji Girls started their season with a home loss to Central Lyon 51-44 on Tuesday night. The Pioneers jumped out to a 16-5 lead in the first quarter but the Lions battled back to cut it to 16-9 at the end of one. Okoboji went stone cold in the second quarter, scoring only four points and falling behind 21-20 at the half. The third quarter saw Central Lyon extend the lead to 40-32. Okoboji would trim the lead to two on two occasions late in the game but could never tie it up and the Lions would hit free throws down the stretch to pull out the win. The Pioneers were led Camry Jones who had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Kallyn Stumbo who also netted 16 points to go along with 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Central Lyon was led by freshman Heyden Heimensen’s 15 points.

Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayshire downed Harris-Lake Park 70-43 in non-conference girls basketball on Tuesday night. It was close through the first quarter with the Titans leading 17-12 after one. In the second quarter, GTRA held HLP to just three points and took a 31-15 lead going into halftime. The Titans led 53-30 after three. GTRA connected often from beyond the arch in the contest, hitting 12 treys in the game. Taylor Park led all scorers for the Titans with 19 including five three pointers. Madison Hough added 14 points while Toni Alesch finished with 13. The Titans are 2-0 and travel to West Bend-Mallard on Tuesday. Harris-Lake Park was led by Taylor Meyer's 16 points. Rachel Martin added 11 off the bench as the Wolves start the year 0-1. They host Okoboji on Thursday, November 30th. Hear the game on Q102.
