Harris-Lake Park Football Advances To State Championship

The Harris-Lake Park football team advanced to the championship game in 8 Man football as they beat Fremont-Mills, Tabor 35-21 in the semifinals Thursday afternoon at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. H-LP at one point led 21-0 until Fremont-Mills scored 15 unanswered to trim the lead to 6. In the 4th quarter, the Wolves outscored them 14-6 to put the game away.
Harris-Lake Park racked about 270 yards of offense compared to Fremont-Mills 226 which included only 3 yards rushing. The wolves were led by Trevor Gunderson who rushed 31 times for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jordan Kyle caught 6 passes for 65 yards and 1 touchdown. Kyle also intercepted a pass on defense and ran it back for a score.
H-LP is now 12-0 and will take on Don Bosco in the 8 Man championship Thursday November 17th in the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls for a 10:05 AM kickoff. Don Bosco won the other semifinal game 72-0 over Midland, Wyoming.
