Halverson wins second non-wing feature
JACKSON - Brandon Halverson became the first two-time winner at Jackson Motorplex this season as he won Friday night's NSL non-wing sprint car feature.
Lee Grosz won his first Midwest Power Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series 360 sprint cars feature in Jackson and Elliot Amdahl won his first RaceSaver sprint feature.
Halverson won his first non-wing feature since the season opener, with Johnny Parsons III starting seventh and finishing second. Jake Kouba was third, Jeremy Kerzman fourth and Alex Schriever fifth.
Donovan Peterson and Eric Schultz were heat race winners. Halverson, Kouba, Bryan Roach and Donavan Peterson each set quick time during their group’s qualifying session.
Grosz won his first feature in Jackson in the Midwest Power Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series 360 sprint cars class. Filling out the top five were Trey Starks, Jack Dover, Terry McCarl and Thomas Kennedy.
Derrik Lusk won the B feature, with Eric Lutz winning the dash. Heat winners were Dusty Zomer, Grosz, Tommy Barber and Lutz.
Amdahl held off Kaleb Johnson to win the RaceSaver sprint car feature. Ryan Voss finished third, with Colin Smith fourth and Brandon Bosma fifth.
Sam Henderson and Amdahl each won a heat race.
There are two events at Jackson Motorplex next week.
On Wednesday, the Late Model Dirt Series, RaceSaver Sprint Cars and the Late Model Street Stock Series will run. On Friday, it's the Midwest Power Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series 360 sprint cars, RaceSaver sprint cars and NSL non-wing sprint cars on the track.
