H-LP Volleyball Sweeps H-M-S In 3 Sets

Harris-Lake Park swept Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 3-0 in War Eagle Conference volleyball on Thursday night in Hartley. The scores were 25-14, 25-19, 25-7. In game one, HLP built an early 7-2 lead and never trailed in the set. In game two, HMS led 3-0 early, but HLP battled back to tie it at six and led by as much as 19-12. Game three also saw a good start for the Hawks as they led 3-1, but HLP then rattled off 17 straight points with Blake Gunderson serving to take an 18-4 lead and cruise to the match victory. In the contest, Taylor Meyer had 19 kills for the Wolves who are now 15-13 (3-6 War Eagle). They host their own tournament on Saturday. HMS is now 9-17 (3-7 War Eagle). They travel to LeMars Gehlen Catholic on Tuesday.
