H-LP Swept CCE Thursday Night

Harris-Lake Park earned the sweep over Clay Central Everly Thursday night in Lake Park.

The girls game was a low scoring, back and forth battle, but H-LP came out on top 29-23. CCE led 4-3 after the first quarter. H-LP led 13-10 at the half. After 3, CCE held a one point lead, 17-16. The Wolves outscored the Mavericks 13-6 in the 4th quarter to pull away for the 6 point victory, 29-23. Katherine Ihnen led the Wolves in scoring with 11 points and Josie McCarty led CCE scorers with 9.

In the boys game, Harris-Lake Park jumped up early and cruised to the 69-28 win. The wolves led 20-10 after the 1st, 43-18 at half, 58-20 at the end of 3, and 69-28 at the final buzzer. Jordan Kyle led all scorers with 32 points and Brady Van Iperen added 13 points. Dayton Brugman led the Mavericks with 13 points.

Harris-Lake Park is back in action Friday night at home against Trinity Christian.

Clay Central Everly is off until January.
