Former Spirit Lake Football Player To Get Shot At NFL
Former Spirit Lake football player Bryson McCabe will get a shot at the NFL. He was invited to the Cleveland Browns 3 day rookie camp. McCabe was a big part in Spirit Lake winning the 2012 Class 2A state football championship. In 2012, McCabe had 497 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns. He also had 237 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns. On defense he recorded 55 tackles, 2 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery. Spirit Lake beat Mediapolis 17-15 in the title game.
After high school, McCabe played at South Dakota State and Iowa Western Community College. He then went to Montana State and played for three seasons. He earned 2nd team all Big Sky Conference honors last season.
Cleveland Browns rookie camp starts on Friday.
