Iowa Lakes Community College Golf Team wrapped up it’s 2014-2015 Golf season at the NJCAA Women’s National Golf Tournament, held at Longbow Golf Course in Mesa, AZ.

For Iowa Lakes, Talisa McLachlan shot a final round score of 77 to move up nine spots from tied for 30th to finish in 21st place out of the 107 player field.  McLachalan coming off of her worst round of the year, came out strong with a one over 37 on the front nine.

“I knew Talisa was ready to play today. Like I said yesterday she is a competitor and was ready to compete. Said Coach Soper.

McLachlan finished with a four day total of 323 and missed being an All-American by 3 shots.

“I’m proud of how Talisa played this week I know she isn’t happy with her third round but she has learned from it and knows what to do to get better.  She said to me as we were leaving the awards presentation “coach we aren’t going home empty handed next year”.  That shows what type of competitor she is and is always looking to get better. Said Coach Soper.

“I look back to this year and this team along with Talisa accomplished a lot.  I look at the students we have coming in for next year and I am excited to see what this next group can do.  We will work hard to get to where we need to be both on the women’s side and on the men’s side.  We have a lot of good local talent and it’s fun to see those student athletes compete, especially at Iowa Lakes.” Said Coach Soper.
