Fans to be allowed for June 15 event; racing results

JACKSON - The first event of the season with fans in the stands at Jackson Motorplex will be for the Bank Midwest Summer Series on Monday, June 15. That event had originally been scheduled for Tuesday.

Only 250 grandstand tickets will be available and they go on sale online Monday.

All five IMCA classes will run, stock cars, modifieds, sport mods, hobby stocks and sport compacts.

All CDC guidelines will be followed. Face masks are recommended but not required. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.

It's the first of four scheduled dates for the series at Jackson. The others are June 30, July 21 and Aug. 25.

Fairmont Raceway

There were more than 100 cars registered for the first event of the season at Fairmont Raceway Saturday.

Jeff Larson (Lakefield), won the IMCA stock car feature, with Dustin Larson (Worthington) second and Derek Green (Granada) third. Luke Sathoff (Jackson) placed sixth.

In the IMCA modifieds class, Brandon Beckendorf (Danube) was first, followed by Kelly Shryock (Fertile, Iowa) and Oliver Kollofski (Fairmont).

Jared Boumeester (Waseca) was the IMCA sport mods winner, with Troy Gochanour (Armstrong) second and Matthew Looft (Swea City) third.

For the IMCA hobby stocks, Jeremy Johnson (Worthington) was the winner, with Blake Luinenburg (Reading) second and Luke Trebelhorn (Buffalo Lake) third.

Nate Coopman (Mankato) won the IMCA sport compacts feature, with Bubba Brown (Jackson) second and Jaedon Erickson (Welcome) third.

I-90 Speedway

Jack Dover (Springfield, Neb.) continued his early season dominance of the Midwest Sprint Touring Series as he won Saturday night's 25-lap feature at I-90 Speedway in Brandon, S.D.

Dover has won all three races in the series this season.

Eric Lutz (Sioux Falls) was second and Brendan Mullen (Grand Forks) third. Derrik Lusk (Jackson) finished ninth.

Dover has an 18-point lead over Mullen in the point standings, with Ryan Bickett (Ramona, S.D.) third, 19 points off the pace.

The MSTS is scheduled to run at I-90 again next Saturday and then make its first appearance of the season at Jackson Motorplex on Friday, June 19.

Elliot Amdahl (Flandreau) was the 305 winged sprint winner in Hatford, with Jared Jansen (Sioux Falls) second and Daniel Nekolite (O'Neill, Neb.) third.

Ryan Voss (Okoboji) was ninth.

Knoxville

Brian Brown (Grain Valley, Mo.) was Saturday's 410 winner at Knoxville Raceway. Rico Abreu (St. Helena, Calif.) was second.

Sawyer Phillips (Pleasantville, Iowa) won the B feature. Skylar Prochaska (Lakefield) was ninth.

Carson McCarl (Altoona) won the 360 A Main, with Clint Garner (Sioux Falls) second and Jamie Ball (Knoxville) third.

Brandon Halverson (Jackson) finished fourth in the B Main to transfer to the A, where he finished 17th.

Nathan Mills (Bondurant, Iowa) won the B Main.
