Emmetsburg Basketball Splits With Storm Lake Friday January 22

Emmetsburg got off to a great start in Storm Lake leading 12-4 after the 1st quarter and 24-11 at half and never looked back in a 56-31 lakes conference win.  The E'hawks got 7 different players in the books and they were led by Kate Jackson with 16 points and Bailey Naig with 13.  Emmetsburg improves to 3-11 and will host Western Christian Tuesday.  Storm Lake got 10 points from Madison Gaffney as they fall to 0-15 on the season and now have a 52 game losing streak.  They will travel to Spencer Tuesday.

 

 

Boys Game

 

Storm Lake and Emmetsburg put on an offensive show in the 1st half with the Tornadoes leading 44-31 at the break.  In the 2nd half, Emmetsburg outscored them 34-22 but it was not enough as Emmetsburg fell on the road 66-65 to Storm Lake.  Emmetsburg was down 4 points in the final 5 seconds and Dalton Connelly hit a 3 point shot to get them within 1 point but the E'hawks were out of timeouts and time expired.  Emmetsburg had 3 players in double figures.  They were led by Wes Schultes with 15, Thomas Schultes with 14 and Dalton Connelly with 13.  They fall to 3-11 on the season.  Storm Lake got 29 points from Parker Lange and improve to 6-7.
