Harris-Lake Park vs. Trinity Christian

 

Trinity Christian won a pitchers' dual against Harris-Lake Park 2-1 and advanced in Class 1A District 1 Baseball on Tuesday night. The Tigers got their two runs in the bottom of the first. HLP scored their lone run in the top of the second. Neither team got a runner past second base the rest of the game. Andrew DeBoer got the win for Trinity. He pitched all seven innings, giving up one run on four hits. He struck out seven and walked one. Ethan Van Bemmel and Logan Cleveringa were each 1-for-3 with a run scored for the Tigers who improve to 15-7. Zach Heikens took the loss for the Wolves. He pitched all six innings, giving up two runs on two hits. He fanned 11 batters and walked three. Trevor Gunderson was 1-for-4 with an RBI for HLP, whose season ends at 3-15. They say goodbye to four seniors.

 

 

Hartley Melvin Sanborn vs. Central Lyon

 

Central Lyon advanced in the second game of the double header in Hartley, defeating Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 11 to 3. The Lions scored three runs in the first inning thanks to a three run home run by Kolton Bus. The Lions added a run in the second and third, three runs in the fourth, two runs in the fifth, and one more in the seventh. HMS got a run in the second and two in the third. Brady Wright was the winning pitcher for Central Lyon. He pitched all seven innings, giving up three runs on seven hits. He struck out six and walked one. At the plate, Wright was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, and two RBI. Bus was 3-for-3 with a walk, four RBI, and two runs scored. The Lions are 9-13. Jacob Kroese was 2-for-2 for the Hawks. Ivan Abonce was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. HMS finishes at 7-18. They graduate three seniors.
