Barb Wieskus Memorial slated at Motorplex
JACKSON - The Barb Wieskus Memorial highlights Friday's night of racing at Jackson Motorplex.
On hand will be the Midwest Power Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series 360 sprint cars, RaceSaver sprint cars and NSL non-wing sprint cars.
Friday’s feature will pay $3,000 to win and $400 to start. The Wieskus Family has also added money to the purse for 360 winged sprint car teams. Wieskus was a scorer at area tracks for a number of years.
Lee Grosz (Watertown, S.D.) was last week's MSTS winner at Jackson Motorplex, joining Brooke Tatnell (San Souci, Australia)and Jack Dover (Springfield, Neb.) as drivers to reach Victory Lane at the track this season.
Dover leads the point standings by 12 points over Trey Starks (Puyallup, Wash.). Thomas Kennedy (Winnipeg) is 18 points out in third, Dusty Zomer (Brandon) trails by 22 points and Grosz is fifth, 26 points off the pace.
Bill Johnson (St. Peter) is first in the 305 standings by 15 points over Brandon Bosma (Round Lake). John Lambertz (Sioux Falls) is 21 points off the pace, Colin Smith (Sheldon) is 23 points out and Kaleb Johnbson (Sioux Falls) trails by 24 points.
Brandon Halverson (Jackson) won his second NSL non-wing sprint car feature of the season last week and has a 27-point lead over Alex Schriever (Sioux Falls).
Johnny Parsons III (Owatonna) is 34 points out, Jake Kouba (Minneapolis) trails by 36 points and Bryan Roach (Wells) is fifth, 64 points back.
