Class 1A Region 1 in Spencer

 

Alison Bueltel & Ashley Thorn (Spirit Lake/Okoboji) beat Kendall Evans & Josie Condon (Estherville) in the doubles championship 6-4, 6-3

 

Both teams advance to the state meet on June 2nd in Iowa City.

 

Casie Barba & Lauren Goth from Spirit Lake/Okoboji just missed out on advancing.  They lost in the semifinals to Evans & Condon 3-6, 6-4, 2-6.  In the 3rd place match they beat LeMars 10-8.

 

On the singles side for SL-O, Abby Eckert and Izzy Backhaus each won their opening match but lost in the 2nd round to end their tournament.
