Youth In Philanthropy Students Tour Incident Command/Mobile Medical Unit
(Spirit Lake)-- Some Youth In Philanthropy students recently had an opportunity to see firsthand the impact they're having on the community.
The students Wednesday toured the new Dickinson County Incident Command and Mobile Medical Unit.
Youth in Philanthropy contributed $4,000 to Dickinson County Emergency Management for medical equipment needed for major incidents in Dickinson county.
Following the tour the students learned how to read and score Community Needs Grant Applications, including requests of $500 to $24,999 being received by the Okoboji Foundation by March 1st.
Youth in Philanthropy has set their goal at $45,000 for 2019 for their grant program and will continue to raise funds through March 31st.
Rob Waterhouse, Executive Director of the Okoboji Foundation, says every dollar given to Youth in Philanthropy goes directly back to the community through grant awards.
