Woman Wanted In Hit-&-Run Personal Injury Collision In Clay County Turns Herself In

(Spencer)-- A Laurens woman wanted in connection with a hit-and-run collision December 15th that injured a Spencer man has turned herself in.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office says 20-year-old Jennica Mielke of Laurens contacted them this past Thursday. Mielke admitted she was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Impala that collided with the rear of a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 30-year-old Wesley Lloyd of Spencer. Both vehicles were eastbound in the 3000 mile of Highway 18 at the time.

Lloyd was taken to Spencer Hospital. Mielke told authorities she was seen at Lakes Regional Healthcare for injuries she sustained.

Mielke was cited with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, failure to stop in an assurred, clear, distance and failure to use a seatbelt.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
