Woman Faces Charges In Connection With Fiery Crash In Clay County
(Spencer)-- A Royal woman faces charges in connection with a fiery crash that took place back in the afternoon of October 18th in Clay county.
The Clay County sheriff's Office says deputies were called shortly after 2:00 pm that afternoon after getting a report of a vehicle in the ditch, which was on fire when they arrived.
Through an investigation it was determined the driver, 42-year-old Lezly Boblit, sustained possible injuries and was taken to Spencer Hospital, where deputies also had some samples collected for chemical testing.
Authorities say the results of those tests have since been returned from the state crime lab. They say that based on those, Boblit was arrested this (Tues.) morning at her residence and was charged with operating while intoxicated, open container and failure to maintain control.
Boblit was being held pending an initial court appearance.
